Anchors aweigh from Cromarty, setting a course for home at North Utsire. Taking advantage of Tuj's favourable winds, North East, & or 8, gusting to 9, Sleet squalls, visibility poor. A bad start... really awful conditions. At least we'll get there quickly...
Sailing on to Biscay visibility good to moderate, state of sea rough, winds South-Southwest veering South occasionally force 6 or 7 gusting force 9 in squally showers. Home at Finisterre before supper.
Setting out at Viking, winds South 3 or 4, occasionally 5 at first in the West, mainly fair, moderate, with fog patches, so no possibility of a Perkins transverse until move 3.
Doubling back to South Utsire, winds South-Easterly 3 or 4, becoming cyclonic, moderate or good and so on and so Forth.
North Severe Gale 9 to Storm 10, Snow Showers, Good but Poor in Showers. Light Icing in South-East Iceland. Their cakes are brilliant.
Oh crikey. West-North-West, 8, gusting storm force 10, scudding past Fingal's Cave in heavy seas, visibility: I don't know, I've got sea water in my eyes. But I think I'm drawn into the South-East Iceland loop
Moving on to South-East Iceland, fog with light rain, visibility less than 100 metres, sea state slight.
