The Great Bear
help
This is just the same as normal rules except the names of the stations are replaced with those on the picture "The Great Bear" by Simon Patterson.
Well, I suppose I should kick things off here with Robert Maxwell
and I s'pose I should take a ganders at the pic, r'else I'm stuffed
I've tried tracking one down on the web, but to no avail. If anyone succeeds, let me know and I'll stick a link in the "flannel panel" above.
Google image search doesn't reveal any legible ones I'm afraid... Meanwhile, Gary Lineker
Groucho Marx it always seemed a shame that Patterson did not manage to find interchanges that fit thematically on both the interchanging lines ...
Couldn't we just make them up, or guess? Margaret Thatcher!
In which case Isaac Hayes.
In defensive mode with Bobby Moore. Now, HE is definitely up there.
Erm, Bagpuss.
I parry to James Baker
I definitely recall that Vic Reeves was on it, oddly enough. Are we going with the make-em-up version then?
[Ibid] Why not, sounds like the most fun I've had, since, erm, er... John Kettley.
John Craven
Googie Withers which is quite painfull I'm told
It could be very painful to be on the wrong end of a case of Nobby Stiles...
Leaving play wide open for Wincey Willis
Getting carried away with a reverse shunt into Bob Carolgees . Big mistake.
Rincewind
Super lard. Oops, I'll try again. Sue Pollard
Christopher Biggins * applause *
Putting the boot in - Alex Ferguson
I do have a readable JPEG of the Great Bear map. Anyone want me to email it to them so they can upload it somewhere ? Or shall I just play Burt Kwouk ?
(Playing from memory) Jimmy Hill. Home at Rod Stewart
It's a bit late now but . . . . Map! (360K)
So we're aiming for Bogie?
(oh and thanks Boolbar!)
Ernest Shackleton then.
Escaping down Thirty Comedians Line to Tony Hancock.
Zog I, home at Lin Piao.
Four Airedales. Blast, done it again. Thor Heyerdahl
Which means I can run rings around you all and head to Saturn.
Returning from a while away, will put my toe in the water with Louis X
Colin Powell, declaring here we go again
*...and so with thanks to Boolbar... entering a bit late with Kate Adie and declaring home naturally with St. David.
Fawn Hall inverting the snoods.
Using the lesser known primary colour inversion and therefore trumping with Eric the Red
Hurtling towards Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards (though not, admittedly, terribly fast).
I can't take it any longer. Putting us all out of our misery with Humphrey Bogart
*shouts, screams, generally goes wild for Lib*
