  This is the first post in a new game
  In verse is its aim.
  So try to put into verse
  A poem that's worse
  To celebrate mc5 is one today
  Let,s all scream and shout Ole!

  I write my doggerel
  Scansion, thought and rhyming skills can go to hell

  O, hail the graet rab!
  Creataer of the site
  Which was fifth at the taem
  But two haev gone to shite.
  
  In its pleasing caelors,
  And its laeout noot a mess,
  Yer site is a mast'ry
  (Saev the bad CSS.)
  
  Soo, let's give a toast to rab!
  Fer this castle of MC.
  (But, noot me, for yer'll know,
  I'll've alraedy had me tea.)

  No, not! Despite

• Tuj - Hmm. MC5 is one today
  So I thought I'd compose
  A great verse celebrator-ay
  But then I couldn't be bothered.

  She thought she saw an MC site
  A-twinkling from afar
  She looked again and found it was
  The road to Shangri-La
  "If I should post in there", she thought
  "My thoughts might travel far."
• Toby - You're blue and white and read all over,
  You help us through the day.
  From far-flung shores we scatter clover Think 'rhyming laurel'
  And cheer 'Calloo! Callay!'
• Projoy - Oooooh!
  It was in the year of God two thousand and three!
  Was invented and launched a place to play MC!
  And it did make its players so glad to be alive
  That they dubbed it with the name of MC Five
  Moreover, it contained an embarrassment of riches
  With games of lies and the like to have us in stitches
  So much that one would roll around on the floor
  Here's hoping that it will last for many years more!

  time for a new theme, how about, the launching of the various bids to host the 2012 Olympics.

  Olympic fervour
  Picnic hampers in the rain
  Britains heart aflame

• ZK - *taking the torch and running with it*
  Let us host the game!
  Why exist we after all
  If not to have our glory,
  And once again (and soaked in rain)
  Add chapters to your story?
  Hearts of gold (and medals too)
  Await to home you here,
  What country is more virtuous,
  Less fat, and soaked in beer?
  (Of course I jest)
  Our ath-l-etes
  Await to welcome you,
  Their sense, at least, of sporting pride
  Will lend the grace that's due.
  And don't forget our stadia!
  Where it would all take place
  There's nowhere that's top-gradier (sorry)
  For match, parade, or race.

  Two thousand and twelve is a long way away
  My hair might be grey
  Which will seem more real
  Than the Olympian ideal.

  Oh, you're so shiny, so tasty, I swear,

  What strife there may be in my life as it stands;
  The worst that could happen? I might get sticky hands.
  What is it so great that means I can devour
  A couple, or three, bars in under an hour?
  What is it makes you so utterly dreamy?
  You're crunchy, you're bubbly, or gooey and creamy,
  Or fruity, or nutty, have nougaty core -
  I'll say it again as I've said it before
  A world without chocolate's a pencil unleaded -
  Utterly pointless, and a world to be dreaded!
  Hmmm...the diet may be getting to me, methinks...
• The Axeman - I chanced, this morn, as I awoke
  To glance outside, and this was wrote:
  A game that lingers with little flair
  A game about which few do care
  Is it really, really fair?
  That such a thing should take up space
  And suck attention from the human race?
  Wrote, this was, upon a cat,
  Who looked most saddened, and with that
  He puffed out his tail and turned incandescent!
  Off he ran, to Mornington Crescent.

• The Axeman - *gazes into the middle distance, knowing that his job is done - for now.*
• Chalky - You meany! There's plenty of us that are really enjoying this game. It doesn't need 20 entries per day to be appreciated, you know? Poets need time! I'm cross. So there.

• ZK - Fair dinkum :) Games need structure or utter randomness to survive. This one was just too sane.

  Writ in neat thought cohesion

  Will I win? I much doubt it
  She's too good for me

  Curious about what? My dreadful contribution? The lady in question? The fact that someone appreciates her input? Perhaps my inept use of the English language?

• ZK - Lol it's not a dreadful contribution! I just don't get what it means.
• Dujon - Ahh! Chalky - the lady of whom I spoke in that little bit of doggerel (sorry, Bob) - is a graphic artist and oft a ticket writer. Obviously she is also a person who contributes much to this and other sites.
• Dujon - Oh, yes, she does/did reside in the City of spires.
• ZK - aaaaahh...somewhat of an insiders' poem, that one :)
• Dujon - Hmmm. Maybe, but not intended in that way. Chalky has openly mentioned these little bits and pieces of her life just as have many other contributors on the MC sites revealed portions of theirs.
