Hurn is the spelling for Bournemouth Airport, certainly, but does anyone really know how Lootenant Hirn-Hearn, the SS Herne-Hyrn and the Hurne-Hern Islands were spelt? I don't, and I heard the whole thing live first time round, on the wireless, in the fifties. The whole word is really just a Yank-mimicking snarl, anyway.
