[Dujon] re: displaying codes as text; what you're after are a couple of HTML entities for the '<' and '>' characters - these are < and > respectively. The <tt> tage you mention only changes the typeface used to display the text, although I usually prefer to use <code> (as you will see if you view source). In summary, then:

Note Be very careful with these - it is tremendously easy to miss out a semi-colon and completely wreck the effect. Use Preview if you can!
